Trek Level 1.
Demands a little walking experience and a fair physical condition.
Alt Maxi. 2700m. This
trek unfolds in a superb region, very rich in cultural diversity
varying according to the altitudes. With terraced fields (of
rice, wheat) on the way, you will pass through numerous ethnically
different villages (Tamangs, Sherpas, Tibetans, Brahmins) always
accompanied by the ever-smiling & welcoming villagers. Immense
rhododendrons forests (from 2000m onwards) with 10m high trees
blossoming in March/April, and many orchids hanging on the mosses
of the trees. An authentic region less touched by tourism. Panoramic
views over the majestic Himalayan summits, especially from Tarkhegyang
and Sarmathang. Max. Alt=2700m (8800ft). This hike is also feasible
in winter. |

Day.1.. Leaving in local bus for the HELAMBUS
and "2 Rivers Lodge" near the Talamarang/Gyalthum village.
About 5 hours in local bus. Superb landscape all along the way.
Terraced fields and a panoramic view on the great Himalayan summits
from DHULIKEL. On arrival in MELAMCHI PUL BAZAR, about 3h of
walk by following the easy track (Porters for your bags) to arrive
at 2 Rivers Lodge (mountain shelter) .
Day.2 Leaving "2 Rivers.Lodge"
(1400m) for the small village of TIMBU (1800m) about 5 hours
of walk.
Day.3. A quite difficult day, leaving TIMBU
for THARKEGAYANG, Sherpa and Tibetan village at 2700m with a
temple and small monastery. About 6 to 7 hours of walk. In the
beginning, steep uphill climb from TIMBU for about 3h upto KAKANI
(1000m of uphill walk). From 2000m onwards, wilds rhododendron
forests of which certain reach 10m of height, flourishing in
February, March and April. Several variety of orchids according
to the seasons.
Day.4. Leaving THARKEGAYANG by following the
ridge for SARMATHANG (2700m), buddhist and brahmin village. A
superb panoramic view on the Himalayas, to be seen behind the
temple.
Day. 5. Leaving SARMATHANG to return (walk downhill)
to "2 Rivers Lodge"..
Day. 6 Leaving "2 Rivers Lodge" 2h1/2
of walk and return to Kathmandu (in local bus). Arrival in the
afternoon in Kathmandu. |

in lodge:

hotel / airport. All treks are in full board. Accommodation and
meals in the Lodges (good quality locale food, the meals are
not order by each client in every lodge, but following the menu
proposed by the guide). All the transports (go/back on the
places of trek and during the trek). Accompany by a professional
Guide and one porter for 2 persons to carry your bags (maximum
20 kg for 2 persons). Trekking permit and reconfirmation of your
return plane ticket.

TREK UNDER TENT: Camping trek includes a team of guide,
assistant, cook & porters to accompany you. Porters carry
all trekking gears, food, fuel, & personal belongings, and
cook and assistants prepares hot meals. Trekkers carry only small
bag or what they might need during the day. we provide dining
tents, sleeping tents, mattress and toilet tents. |

TREK IN LODGE. The lodges are simple mountain shelters,
providing meals (very good local food) and simple rooms with
2 or 4 beds (Only in Ledhar and Phedi, it is a common dormitory).
In each lodge, you find a room with water (same as shower) for
bath. The treks in lodge pass in a very convivial atmosphere
permitting to have a closer look of Nepalese mountain life and
to encounter new person every day. It also permits to be in warm
room (kitchen and restaurant room) in cold season

FOOD DURING
TREK: Base of meals during
the trek are, rice, noodles, potatoes, (porridge for breakfast).
all are slow-sugar, its the best food for well walking. In lodge-trek
the lunch is taken in lodges on the way ( hot meal). The guide
order the food |

Note: All participants have to give a copy
of their insurance, with the address, tel and fax number of insurance
company. This insurance has to cover the helicopter rescue in
case of accident or sickness. In case of your insurance don't
cover helicopter rescue, you have to fill a form in Kathmandu
and make agreement that you will pay yourself the amount of expenses
paid by Nepal Ecology Treks for your helicopter rescue or research.
Without this agreement, you cannot participate in trek.
** In
trek the guide is allowed
to change the itinerary, depending of the weather, climate and
the physical condition of participants. Each participant who
stop his trek or make this trek more-fast cannot ask any money
compensation to the agency. |
